Okay, so my brother is fighting over in Iraq and he is doing good with the job, for he does what he is good at. One this is tho, he is tired of getting yelled at for "killing babies" and "hurting innocents" when he has done neither, he has just protected your freedom that allows you to actually say that.
Seriously if it was me, I would probably dropkick that person, but no, it isn't. Do they not understand that what we do is keep these other people standing, and if we don't, war breaks out. so really, you say stop the war when, if we do, it will lead to an even bigger war.
Think how it feels in the soldier's point of view, he or she is being blamed because he or she decided to protect your rights. So, yes we Americans are pretty pathetic, given our own soldiers as a common enemy! I dare you to tell me I'm wrong!

Higher Education?
Notice the bar for education in America lowered? notice we are slowly lowering on the charts? i thought education got better over time, not worse. what do you think this is? worse schools? worse teachers? less effort?
Well it isnt really any of those, for if you get into the right classes you recieve the proper education, but, thanks to the "no child left behind" law, schools must push ahead students that cannot handle the new classes, putting unprepared men and women into the working world.
I really think they should keep back students who cant even handle their current grade level. We already know they will fail the next grade, why test it? If a kid can't handly 8th grade year, how could they handle freshman year? Really i dont know, and I doubt i ever will. But i know these students will probably feel better about themselves if they actually understood what went on.
Maybe if the students that dont even understand the previous grade are kept back the students who can understand it could be taught more and our country will once again be high on the education end of the spectrum.

More to Father/Son Relationships?
In today's society look around. You either see kids acting violent or inappropriate or you see the older age group of society, aka, the parents of these kids talking about how immature they are. But this group never considers that they were the ones that raised the younger ones, that they taught the current generation in charge how to live, it is not the younger generation's fault but rather the people that showed them how to go through life.
I cringe every time i hear "your generation really went down into the gutters, you live so wrong" but really, we live how we were taught. the words of my old teacher, "These old men, and woman, think they were better kids then all of you were, but, really, they were the same, it is just human nature to think you are superior." ultimately, I agree, they do think they are better because they are human.
Just I feel today's generation needs more acknowledgement for what they have don't good than bad. And also more credit, because the people that taught them are also to blame, not just them. Older generations and younger generations, tell me if you agree, or not.

The American Fault
Have you ever noticed that in America there are faults that we all share? Well back in the ice storm in December, which was in New England, people panicked more then they had to. If your don't know what this ice storm was, simple enough, ice rained down knocking out power for a large group of people in the New England area.
But the panic was not for the ice but rather because they lost their all so beloved power and could not live with out it, or so it seemed. But we all know we could, we just hate the inconvenience of finding something to do without technology. People were so desperate that someone almost sued one of my friends because a tree in his yard fell onto the power line, taking out the street's power.
People that desperate are what ruins us, in the long run at least. Well if you think about it, if we always act like this eventually our system will fall apart. People ask why the gas prices are on the constant rise, well, we certainly are not short on it, truth is, it is because we couldn't go a day without it, or in my friend's terms, it is an addiction. We complain about it yet it is our own fault; we give them the idea of raising these prices.
So as gas prices rise, be sure to tell yourself, "i am partly the cause of this." Because i am positive that these companies think like me, they will abuse people's addictions if it helps them achieve whatever goal they had. So stop and think a moment next time, it just make our kids happier one day.
By all means, I am not perfect, I too suffer from this addiction along with all of you. Some day I hope to see our transportation like that of some foreign countries, aka, more efficient for us (less traffic jams), our wallets, and the environment (yes i will sometimes talk like a modern day hippie. So what do you say?
